GREAT BBC DEMO – NEW KIDS CLASS IN SOUTHEND

We would like to say thanks to everyone who helped with the BBC demo on Sunday! we had a great time and a great response from both the BBC and the public. Roll on next weekend in Chelmsford and Thurrock!

Clips of the Sunday demo will be uploaded to the website in the next few days, so stay posted!

BRAZIL TRIP 2010 – MESTRE BISCUIM

Save your pennies and your holiday as we are starting to plan a Cultural Capoeira trip to the North East of Brazil. Everything needs to be confirmed and arranged, but the basics will be something like:

• 2 / 3 weeks (Depending on your availabilty)
• October 2010
• Visiting the state of Ceara (check out this website for some ideas about the surrounding areas: http://www.visitfortaleza.com/)
• Activities to involve: Capoeira, Music, Dance, Portuguese…… BEACH BEACH BEACH!!!
• We will organise accommodation, group flights, some meals… more to be confirmed
• Trip lead by Mestre Biscuim & Professora Sininha (and little Mestrinho Zico Henry)
• Price to be confirmed…

CAPOEIRA BRASIL – BBC ESSEX ROADSHOW EVENTS

We have been invited to take part in the BBC Essex “Ditch the Diet” Roadshows. Which start this Sunday in Southend, places and times we are on listed below:

Sunday 21st Feb – Victoria Plaza, Southend -11.30, 12.30, 1.30, 2.20
Saturday 27th Feb - High Chelmer, Chelmsford – 11.10, 1.20, 2.20
Sunday 28th Feb - Lakeside Shopping Centre, Thurrock – 11.30, 12.20, 1.10

We would love for you all to come and give your support, we’ll be giving shows of Capoeira, Music and Maculele. Plus on Thursday 25th February myself and Mestre Biscuim will be live on BBC Essex Radio with Dave Monk, talking about Capoeira and Brazilian percussion, should be on around 10.30am ish.

MESTRE BISCUIM WORKSHOP IN NORWICH – Sat 20th Feb

We will be visiting our very good friends in Norwich this Saturday as Mestre Biscuim will be giving a series of workshops: Capoeira, Acrobatics, Maculele, Music and Roda.

The workshop starts at 11am till 3.30pm, so we will be arriving for 10.30am, ready to start on time! Its a bargin price of £10 for the whole workshop, so not one to miss out on!

Please wear your whites for the event, and bring some snacks. It will be a great opportunity to meet some new friends and play in the roda. We have also been invited for a social after so if you are free in the eve, we’ll be hanging around for something to eat and a few drinks after.

NEW CLUB TSHIRT

We have a new club tShirt for you all, available in a range of colours, all with the same design front and back. Available in Mens T, Womens fit T and Kids T – £12.

We would like everyone to get one so that they can be used when we give demos, shows and visit other groups workshops and events.

CAPOEIRA STUFF

Make sure that you have your Abadas (whites) for 2010! They are the club uniform and you will need them for shows, demos and events, plus for a few classes you will be required to wear them, we’ll update about this soon.

We still have a couple of pairs of coloured capoeira pants, so if you would like to get your hands on some let us know in class. They are certainly the most comfortable pants you will ever wear! Great for home, gym and training capoeira!!

We have brought back lots of Capoeira DVD’s and CD’s from brazil. Some of which are no longer published, so if your not getting your fill in the class get your mits on some DVDs/CDs to listen to an study at home! and if you STILL haven’t got your hands on a copy of Mestre Biscuim’s DVD, where have you been??? We have the last few left!

CLUB MEMBERSHIP

Start of a new year, we now have our club membership up and running which also includes an insurance which you all NEED to have to train in our classes.

We will be handing out forms in the classes next week. Let us know if you have any questions.

Its DONE! and its looking wicked. To get your hands on a copy get in touch or catch up with in class. Half of the DVD is a documentary of Mestre’s work in Fortaleza with kids and adults Capoeira and Music, and the second half is a capoeira roda before Mestre left for Europe.
